experiences=healing
we are broken. we are hurting. we need love we need comfort. this is what the nepali people were screaming with there eyes only a few months ago. and as i continue thinking back to those eyes... the big, desperate, sad looking eyes... i think about the amazingly fun times i had... like camera fights with Katie and dancing in the rain with Sophie, and laughing over absolutely nothing with Jini... and i think of the heartbreaking, sad times... times like when Hannah and I cried for a half hour over things we couldnt change, when i would look into the eyes of the desperate children and skinny mothers, and the times when we went to temples and saw real idolatry ... i remember those times. the times when God broke my heart so that he could heal it. and it reminds me that God was always looking out for me and that he wants me to have good experiences so that he can laugh with me, and hard experiences so he can hold me and help me through it. Im thankful that God brought me through these times... and that he has always been my friend :)
thanksgiving
So, now comes the time when we all are required to be thankful... what is thanks? what does it mean to us as a culture and as a country? right now, I think that thanks is something that we americans take for granted. We find that if we dont get what we want, that we aren't happy, and therefore we cant be thankful. But thanks is something that we should always have, regardless of what is going on around us. Thanks, to me is something that makes me feel closer to God, and it makes me happier with the world around me. So, today, even though it's not thanksgiving, think of 10 things you are thankful for... peace out ppl and ill post again soon!!

school.. ugh.. volleyball.. woot woot!!!!!!
school is so much harder than last year.. i mean u had at most like an hour of homework towards the middle of the year.. but now we hav like 2 hours of homework and its not even the 3rd week of school!! and on top of that i have volleyball so i pretty much dont have a life. i love it tho... anyways volleyball is amazing... its hard work tho bc smalls is working us way harder than last yr.. we have certain excercises every day for the 2nd half hour (volleyball is 2 hrs btw). the hardest day is probly tuesday bc its abs and that kills after doing 30 seconds of crunches. anyways.. we got 2nd in our tournament today!!! and we played 4 or 5 teams and won all but 3 games... and we had to play like 12 games. so it was awesome!! :) anyways.. to all u 6, 7 and 8 graders.. work hard while ur in junior high and then high school we be easy. peace out.. :)

random... o! retreat!!
so i was looking at my blog today... and i decided that it was kinda pathetic that the last time i posted something it was august.. so i thought for awhile about wat to write.. and then i figured it out!!! retreat 2009!!! our school goes on a retreat for the jr high and high school every year at the start of school to wild horse canyon.. now its called washington family ranch which i personally think is kinda lame.. but anyways retreat was totally awesome this year. Cody cannon spoke about redefining christians and it really impacted me to make a difference in my school. one of the things that was most impacting to me was when he said that most ppl think of christians as hypocrites.. boring ppl.. and suite wearing church going geeks.. who wants to be thought of as ppl like that? i definetly dont.. so i decided that i was going to make a difference and love others.. bc when ppl see me they need to think wow, that girl loves me and shes a christian. i wanna be a christian bc i want to be loved. so yea.. that was my retreat experience. love you all.. peace out :)

Leper colony
today we went to a leper colony. . . it was soo cool. the ppl there only get 45 kilos of rice a month, 2 prs of clothes a year and a few basic house needs. it was so sad. we brought cookies and candies to them and they were so thankful! yesterday we got to go on a 4-hour hike. wow, the scenery is so amazing. took tons of pics even though it was cloudy. we leave for Pokhara tomorrow, a 6-hour bus ride at least :P so, yea itll be fun.

Nepal 7/6/09
Good flight to Nepal. Went to a Buddhist temple on the 3rd. . .that was incredibly sad. There was a little girl running around hitting the prayer wheels yelling her prayers. . . it was heartbreaking. On the 4th we went to a hindu place where people were cremating dead bodies. It was sick and the looks on people's faces were heartbreaking. . .the smell sickening. . .the river nasty and the kids were actually playing in the water. I can't even imagine how that was.
Street ministry went well on Sun., got rained out, though. Today we go to a place where they sacrifice the animals~please pray that I won't get too grossed out!
